Looking After Me
Light
Thrives in bright indirect or partial shade. Too much sun can cause sunburn and too little can result in no flowering.
Water & Food
During the warm seasons, water lightly every week, ensuring soil remains moist and feel free to give the leaves a spray. Feed once a month.
During colder months, slow down to watering every 2-3 weeks and stop feed.
Humidity & Temperature
They like normal room temperature (if you're happy so are they) and love humidity.
My Story
The latin name for Flamingo Flower Plants is dericed from the Greek ‘Anthos’ and ‘Oura’ which translates to ‘flowering tail’. However, Anthurium has a stronger link to Colombia than to Greece, given away by its exotic appearance.
There are over 1000 species of this plant (see here if interested), differentiated primarily through different colours, patterns and shapes.
