why grow your own?
NUTRITIOUS AND DELICIOUS
When growing your own food, your diet is more diverse and healthy, packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Food in its rawest, freshest form is not only the tastiest way to enjoy it, but also the most nutritional.
FEEL GOOD FOOD
Research has shown that humans elicit positive psychological responses to nature, which involve feelings of pleasure, sustained attention or interest, feeling a “relaxed wakefulness,” and a decrease of negative emotions such as anger and anxiety.

THERE'S A BIGGER ISSUE
Growing your own is fun and inspiring, but it’s more than just a project. We need to radically re-think how we eat, and this starts with giving food the love and appreciation it deserves.
As humanity has modernised and farming has commercialised, we've become distanced from our food. Think about what it takes to feed a city - millions of us eating 3 times a day. Food is imported from all around the world, circulated, processed, eaten, disposed off (40% wasted) - yet we take it for granted.
It's an unsustainable system, responsible for 24% of global Global Greenhouse Gases, and many other bad things; from polluting water and displacing nature to plastic pollution and deforestation. Not cool.
We believe growing food at home builds new appreciation of what it takes to feed the world, and every harvest is a mini win that contributes to something bigger.
